Love these pullovers. I've got 2 of them now and they are perfect for a cool winter day (in the southeast). Fit is good (although I wear a MH medium in most stuff; had to order up to Large here).
I would recommend this product.

The Micro grid 1/2 zip is a superb fleece that should be in the arsenal of every backpacker. It's lightweight, warm, and looks cool. I know first impressions-wise, it looks inadequate for the job, but it's awesome!
I took in up hiking recently here in the Cascades, still in winter, as my main mid-layer, worked perfectly.
The word of warning though it that seems to run small, I had to try a few different ones one to find the right fit. Beyond that, it's a quality piece of clothing.
I would recommend this product.

The large is a solid medium

I just got my microgrid large fleece in and was very disappointed in the fit. I am 6' 180lbs athletic build and it was snug and short on me. I compared it to my Patagonia large microgrid fleece and there was about an inch difference in the width and overall length. I have numerous other MH tops and jackets in large and they fit perfect.

This zip top is an excellent replacement for two different brands of tops (Nike and North Face). The warmth is excellent for the minimal thickness. However, if you're looking for a top to workout in, this may not be for you (which is why I gave only 4 out of 5 stars). The breathability is not as good as the Cragger Zip Ts (of which I bought one and then bought one more). If you want something for hanging around or just walking through the stores, this probably a good buy for you. If you need something with more versatility, you may want to pick something else (like the Cragger zip).

Versatile Layering Piece

This piece is fantastic! It's a great light-weight mid-layer and an equally awesome heavy-weight base layer for really cold conditions. It looks great on me so I wear it often just day-to-day (I wear a Large at 70 in / 178 cm tall and 200 lbs / 91 kg).

I purchased this fleece pullover in the bright red color as a Christmas gift. The recipient was very happy with it and the size was consistent with what he usually wears. The fabric feels substantial and very soft, and he said it was very warm.

This is my favorite layer by far! It looks awesome on and feels awesome as well. Medium is form fitting, so if you put anything underneath like a tshirt, its a good idea to go with a slim, technical shirt if youre a sweat-beast like me. Otherwise, totally comfortable against the skin, if you dont mind the 1/4 zip revealing your manly chest fur. David Hasselhoff would be proud!

This is my first piece of clothing from Mountain Hard Wear and I absolutely love it! It is much thinner than I anticipated but it is also drastically warmer than I thought it would be. It seems to be quite breathable as well because I have no issue wearing this outside in 40 degree weather or sitting inside with my wood stove burning. I absolutely recommend this!

This shirt rocks! Nice and warm, but very light weight. I've even worn it out by itself on some of the more mild days around here (which have been just about 32 degree fahrenheit, and not very windy). On the colder days, it goes extremely well with a softshell coat over top of it. While I haven't done it yet, I can picture this as being a very good trail running shirt in cold weather even. I am 5'11" @ 170lbs and the size large fit me perfectly. The sleeves are the perfect length, and it's a comfy fit, not tight, not loose.

This is the best micro fleece I've ever had. The fit is just right and unlike many other companies that have sized everything up a notch or two Mountain Hardware continues to fit consistently. I've used it in tremendously varied conditions and been rather rough on it. I have never had a tear or pull in the fabric. I am currently circumnavigating the globe by bicycle and I have had it with me for the past two weeks. Sadly I lost it off the back of my bike the other day somewhere between Langhorne PA and Baltimore MD. I will miss it.

It was a great pullover top on a recent two week trip I took to a cold, wet, tiaga/tundra environment with daytime temps in the 40s. Stuff it into one of the sleeves for a small soft pillow at night. The left chest pocket is handy, but a tad small for a map, pen, etc. At 6' and 175 lbs I typically wear a large, but find this top runs bit small. The athletic cut body fits me well and layers nicely over a synthetic base. But the sleeves are definitely shorter (33.5") than the 35" indicated by MHW's size chart; thus four stars, not five. If you have long arms consider selecting one size up.

This is a great, simple pullover. It is incredibly soft and worm, but not bulky. I have a Lab puppy and I always end up rolling on the floor with him. One thing I really like about this pullover is that the dog hair amazingly brushes right off. You can't go wrong by owning a couple of these pullovers. I go unshaven all the time and have noticed a little "pilling" around the neck. One suggestion is to use the material (or something similar) to the Syncro Jacket's neck lining. I think this would eliminate this minor problem.

I have a similar material in the vest and this feels lighter. I run hot and usually prefer a vest. In this case, the lighter weight is nice. A t-shirt and this top are great. Maybe not the essential piece of gear in your bag, but still great.

A cold winter day at 14,000'
I love this shirt. I am 6' 175# and bought a large. The fit is snug through the chest and arms, the length is great. The fit is a little more snug than the Microfleece zip T and this top feels warmer. It is low profile enough to layer with and suprisingly warm. Styling is good, fit is good, functionality is superb. I have washed mine a dozen times or so and it is holding up great, did not shrink.

Warm

After reading reviews I bought one size up knowing I wanted to wear this as an outer layer rather than a base. I normally wear a L and bought a XL and it's a great fit. I've worn this under a jacket and body armor and it's kept me very warm in 30 degree weather.

Micro Grid Warmth

The Micro Grid offers an excellent warmth to weight ratio, as suggested, and layers nicely under an insulated jacket/ hardshell jacket. It is also exceptionally warm as a stand-alone piece through late Fall. The front zipper snugs nicely into it's protective sheath, which eliminates neck chaffing and otherwise painful beard hair tugging. The chest pocket is a useful addition, a good spot for lip balm/ inhalers/ lighters/ etc. The fit is snug through the torso and the sleeves. At 5'11" and 165 lbs., the medium fits well. A versatile fleece with efficient features.

Awesome Mid-layer!

Had this only for a few weeks and I love it. Definitely made as a tight mid-layer and barely enough room for a base-layer underneath. Muscle fit. I'm 5'10" and weigh 145 and the medium fits pretty perfect. Works awesome under a rain coat with a base-layer in 30 degree weather and light snow. Also works great with my new Cutaway Jacket for skiing which is what I plan on using it mostly for.

Nice mid/light outer layer, but caution THIS RUNS EXTREMELY SMALL. I'm 5'11" #185 athletic build and wear a large in most every vendor, every product. Even in Mountain HW most of my garments are large. I can even fit into a medium in some vendor outerwear. This L is skin tight. Have to send it back. Debating on trying an XL.

This is one great fleece, love to layer with this, not bulky so a person can still move around in, the pocket is nice for a cell phone also, the sleeve was just a bite short, ive got long arms anyway, still works.

awesome mid layer

i wore my micro grid zip tee today a a mid layer for snowboarding and it was fantastic. I had just my shell, thin under armor and my micro zip and i was nice and warm the entire day. I even wore it with out my shell for a while just standing in the snow and it seemed to do a great job not absorbing the water and shedding off the snow. I am defiantly getting another one in a different color!!!

Warmest of the Warm, and Tightest of the Tight

I really like this fleece, it is extremely warm and meets all the expectations that a fleece mid-layer should. However, I just want to advise EVERYONE to SIZE UP. I am 5'10'' and 145, and I got a medium. It is pretty pretty tight, and overall too small for the size. Personally I like my sleeves on fleeces to come an inch or two over my wrists (add 3 inches to the sleeves, stretchy cuffs, and thumb loops/half glove loops like the super power hoody, and this would be the best fleece on the market), but, the sleeves on this shirt are about an inch short of my wrists. I am a little bit constricted around the armpits/chest area as well. So go a size up FOR SURE. Everything else about this fleece is wonderful. I just wore it in 27 degree weather just walking around campus under my light windstopper jacket, and started sweating. A on warmth and weight. C on size.

Great midweight layer that will breath and wick as you exert yourself. I usually wear a medium but found the medium to be a bit restrictive, and so went with a large. The closer the fit however, the better it keeps you warm. Looks great either in the mountains, or just hanging around town. Love the royal blue!

Luv my zippy micro!

It fits great and is very functional. Has a good feel that makes it easy to layer. This is more than a tee, slightly heavier and much warmer. On the next version, I'd add thumb loops. Overall a good choice for just about any activity.

Feels awesome, looks awesome, is awesome

Like someone in a previous review, I wanted a mid layer that could go between a thicker mid layer and my base layer. This turned out to be the perfect choice. I love how it feels and how it looks (black). I also wear it every day, and when it gets around freezing, I just throw a hoodie on top of it and feel perfectly comfortable. Medium fits perfect for me, 5'8'' 160lb guy.

This top is an awesome piece of gear to throw in the pack. I recently found myself at 9500' with weather rolling in and I am very thankful I had this instead of the gear I'm issued through the military.
