I've had my coat about two weeks now. I purchased this coat to replace all the half-way decent winter coats that I've accumulated over the years. I wear it casually, to/from work, walking the dog, doing stuff around the house outdoors. I could see wearing it in cold weather camping as well.

So overall this particular down coat is really nice. It's a simple design, which I like. Nothing too technical about it really. The overall cut and fit of the coat is good. The length covers just below the waist. The fleece lined pockets are a nice touch. The down insulation is pretty warm, although I do need to wear a fleece underneath on days that are 20F or colder.

Some design changes I might suggest: it's still a little light on the fill (but better than the other down coats i tried). I bit more would be great for the lower temps.
I've had a few feathers poke out of the outer lining, which I expected, but I'm not sure why this continues to be an issue for any down coats at all. Oh well.
Like any down jacket, I'm super nervous about accidentally ripping it on something and all the fill pouring out, rendering the coat useless. Wish the outer lining gave me more confidence regarding this issue, but its not a deal breaker since everything else out there is pretty much the same.
I would like the cuffs to be a bit longer in length along the wrist. That way when wearing a plain old insulated work glove or something with a short gater there would be enough overlap to seal off the gap around the wrist.
Anyway, it's a warm coat. I've used it everyday. And I'm happy to have one good coat to wear in the winter. The design is nice, it's simple and well thought out.

I would recommend this product.

The coat fits well and is warm when the cold winds blow. What I'm finding is small pin holes in the fabric shell causing the feathers to leak out so I use liquid stitch to seal them Almost all the down coats have the same construction so different brands don't really make a difference. This my first down coat I've bought and I think it will be while before I buy another one unless I find one on the used market. Overall, given the holes that I find and seal, the coat is good. I've similar finding with a down vest I have. Thank you

Hunker Down Parka

Very warm, and even stays mostly dry in the rain. I had major problems with the main zipper and the velcro on the jacket that allows you to conceal the main jacket keeps sticking to itself and getting in the way of the zipper.

I gave this to my brother as a birthday present and he loves it. The nights in Los Angeles have been pretty cold lately and it comes in handy. The fit is perfect and it is not a heavy jacket.

My last down coat did me right for the last decade, but the new one, in a week of very cold weather in telluride has proven to be significantly sweeter. I suspected i wouldn't be able to fully zip my 6 mo old daughter inside with me but it is warm effective and it can carry a six pack of cans in the pockets.

Warm and Comfy

Awesome parka, feels light when wearing but very warm. It fits perfect and keeps you nice and toasty even at -20 and colder. It stuffs down super small into the stuff sack and is very light, perfect for back country frolics.

Hunker Down Parka

First let me say that fortunately I have not had to use the product yet - it's only September and winter has not come to Chicago just yet - YEAH! Which is also one of the reasons why I only rated it 4 stars. What I can say is the fit, feel and quality are excellent, the zip off hood is great and there is a lot of attention to details. I feel positive it will meet my warnth expectations. This is also one of the longer parka's I could find without going knee length so while I am OK with the overall length (32") another 1-2 inches would be perfect and really allow the coat to cover your butt completely.
